Beaty and Coburn win 2024 LA TBF Junior State Championship on Toledo Bend

The 2024 LA TBF Junior State Championship was held Sunday, January 27th on Toledo Bend with 61 Junior teams attending. Taking to the water in the early am hours, they faced a 7mph northwest wind and very cool temps in the 40’s.

The MLF Bass Pro tour’s first 2024 stop just happened to fall on the heels of our LA High School and Junior State Championship right here on Toledo Bend. On behalf of the Bass Federation and our TBF Junior anglers we want to extend a huge shout out to the more than a dozen MLF pros who came out and visited with the High School and Junior anglers this weekend.

The Sabine River had been on the rise and created the need for anglers to adjust locations and methods seeking out the Lunkers of Toledo.

The Calvary Baptist Academy team of Brooks Beaty and Caleb Coburn not only won the LA TBF Junior State, but with a 17-pound 1-ounce bag they also had the largest 5 live fish limit for the entire weekend. The Junior team bested the Junior field as well as the entire previous day’s High School tournament.

Taking second place was Jayden Meadows and Peyton Bailey from Northeast LA Junior team, they weighed in a five fish limit at 14 pounds and 10 ounces.

And the third-place team was Calvary Baptist Academy team of Tallen Toups and Drew Morgan with a limit of five Bass at 12 pounds and 11 ounces.

Our big fish for the day was good for a reel this weekend and went to team Brooks Beaty and Caleb Coburn, congrats on the 5-pound 4-ounce lunker.

With 61 teams, we advanced the top 6 teams to the 2024 Junior World Championship this July. For full results and more photos of this event CLICK HERE

Whitman and Graham win Louisiana TBF Junior State Championship on D’Arbonne

The Louisiana TBF held their 2023 Junior State Championship March 18th on Lake D’Arbonne in Farmerville, LA. The weather conditions were tough with a cold front moving in for the weekend. Resulting in only two teams bringing in a five fish limit. One of those teams was Levi Whitman and Noah Graham. Their bag of fish weighed 9 pounds 11 ounces. This was enough to take 1st place and the opportunity to advance to the Bass Federation Junior World Championship. Peyton Bailey and Jayden Meadows came in 2nd place with a five fish limit that weighed 6 pounds 13 ounces. Rounding out the top 3 teams was Hunter Barnett and Hayden Hardy with 4 pounds 14 ounces.

The Louisiana Bass Federation would like to give a huge shout out to Mayor John Crow and team from the City of Farmerville for a great show of support and making this a great event for the high school anglers. We also want to thank Big Star Grocery and Goldman Marine for their support at this event. For full results CLICK HERE. To see more photos from this event CLICK HERE
